Ritmo. A name that fits this little gem of a car perfectly. Lightweight, agile and equipped with a powerful 2-liter engine, it is a typical '80s Hot Hatch, perfect for a full-throttle weekend or a classic car meeting.

It's the kind of car you build a relationship with, you get attached to, mark the rhythm from one corner to the next.

Designed by Sergio Sartorelli and presented at the Turin Motor Show in 1978, the Ritmo was available in a variety of models, from 3-door city cars to sporty convertibles. A car of undisputed success.

This particular model, the Abarth 130 TC was the top of the range, Fiat's answer to the contemporary Golf GTI

The example we are offering you for sale is a Fiat Ritmo Abarth 130 TC in excellent condition, has had 2 previous users, and only shows 56.500 km since new. An excellent preserved despite its 36 years, it still stands out on the streets with its typical roar of the bad 80s cars.

The interior is preserved in excellent condition, the cloth seats with a sporty design typical of the era do not show great signs of wear, as well as the steering wheel and all plastic parts are well maintained. Proof that the car has always been well maintained by its previous owners.

As with most cars of this era, the large windshield lets in a lot of light, so even though the materials in the cabin are mostly black, the interior still feels light and airy. Overall, it's a fabulously designed and finished interior, one of the coolest cockpits of all '80s Hot Hatches.

Among the stylistic points of the time, the Ritmo Abarth is certainly an interesting car. From the angular body design to the unusually shaped rear spoiler and clean lines, it is instantly recognizable among 80s cars. In particular, the small crease at the base of the rear side windows, the deliberately round door handles and the red pinstripe on the underside of the doors. It is an attractive looking car.

The quality of the paint is still in very good condition. Obviously, as this is a 36 year old car, there are some small imperfections, but nothing that could worry about. This is a very original car presented in genuine condition.

From the very good condition of the paint, finishes and rims, to the original stickers adorning the car, it is clear that the previous owners have taken great care of this Ritmo Abarth. The lights, badges and glass elements are also in very good condition.

The bottoms, often a defect on Fiat of this era, are also in good condition: straight, clean and with no signs of corrosion, damage or repairs to the sills, internal wheel arches and floor.

As you can imagine the engine is the centerpiece of this car, you feel the power of the 2,000 twin camshafts, all powered by two Weber 40s for more power and even better engine sound. The result is a respectable 130hp and 176Nm of torque. Good figures for the mid-1980s, but when combined with the Ritmo's one-ton curb weight (officially weighing 950kg), it means this little bomb will hit 100km/h from standstill in 7.5 seconds and push, where permitted, up to 195 km/h.

A complete service was recently carried out on the car, including fitting a new water pump, overhauling the brakes, engine belts and the usual fluids and filters. It is certainly evident from the excellent condition of the engine compartment, with its red Abarth radiator head and yellow belt cover, that the owners have put as much love and attention to the mechanical maintenance of the car as to the aesthetics.

A true icon among the '80s Hot Hatches, this Ritmo Abarth 130 TC will still excite its lucky new owner.
